Editorial and review policy

Source hierarchy

India Code, the Gazette and Ministry of Home Affairs documents are primary statutory sources. Devgan is a secondary comparison reference. Disagreements require checking the official edition and relevant date.

How content is produced

Pages are generated from reusable templates. English text is extracted from the source PDF. Hindi pages show original excerpts and an unverified OCR reading aid. Educational explanations and translation drafts were prepared with AI assistance. AI is not a legal reviewer.

Review procedure

  1. Check wording, digits, subsection boundaries and source references.
  2. Verify commencement, amendments and applicable notifications.
  3. Have a suitably qualified legal reviewer assess explanations.
  4. Check Hindi legal terminology and transcription separately.
  5. Record the actual reviewer, review scope and date for each approved page.

Until completed, review status remains pending. Publisher attribution is not review approval.

Dates and corrections

Source-edition dates, completed review dates and substantive content-update dates are distinct. A software rebuild does not refresh a legal-review date. Material corrections should be recorded in the update history.
